Hex Geometry
At the core of the Aerie Origin is our commercial-grade 1,030-coil Honeycomb innerspring. Traditional innersprings are arranged in rows and columns, leaving open spaces between coils. Honeycomb coils are arranged in a hexagonal pattern that fits more support into the same area, reducing gaps and creating a more consistent, responsive sleep surface.
Each coil is 8" tall and features an industry-leading six turns over those 8". The coils are electronically tempered for lasting strength and durability, creating the commercial-grade support that defines a Foreverbed.
Coils also offer an important advantage over solid foam or air support systems: airflow. As you move across the mattress, air can move through the spring unit rather than becoming trapped inside dense layers, helping the mattress maintain a more comfortable sleeping temperature.
Comfort Layers - Serene Foam
The Aerie Origin is designed to feel luxuriously soft without sacrificing support. A generous 4" of Serene foam provides deep pressure relief, responsive comfort, and a remarkably consistent feel.
Serene is manufactured by Carpenter and is engineered to address many of the disadvantages associated with traditional memory foam. Rather than relying solely on gel or surface treatments for cooling, Serene uses an advanced cell structure that allows air within the foam to be replaced as you move across the surface, helping prevent body heat from building up.
Unlike traditional memory foam, which can become noticeably firmer in colder temperatures, Serene is designed to maintain a consistent feel regardless of bedroom temperature.
Most importantly, Serene excels at pressure relief. Its advanced construction provides significantly greater pressure-relieving performance than conventional memory foam, helping create the deeply comfortable, floating sensation that defines the Aerie.
Comfort Layers - Nano Coils
Body impressions are rarely caused by the primary innerspring unit. More often, they develop in lower-density polyurethane comfort foams that soften and compress over time.
To reduce our dependence on conventional polyurethane foam, the Aerie Origin incorporates advanced NanoCoil technology from Leggett & Platt. NanoCoils are micro-coils less than 1.25" tall that function as comfort layers rather than primary support coils.
These miniature springs provide responsive comfort, enhanced airflow, and exceptional durability while allowing the mattress to conform naturally to the body.
Comfort Layers - Graphite Talalay Latex
Talalay latex is one of the most premium comfort materials available and is an important part of what makes the Aerie Origin exceptional.
Naturally resilient and breathable, Talalay latex provides responsive pressure relief without the slow, sinking sensation of traditional memory foam. It is also naturally antimicrobial, highly durable, and exceptionally resistant to long-term compression.
The Talalay manufacturing process produces an unusually consistent and refined latex foam. Graphite is added to help absorb and manage body heat, further enhancing the mattress's thermal performance.
The result is a comfort layer that feels buoyant, supportive, breathable, and remarkably durable.
Comfort Layers - Alpaca Fleece
The Aerie Origin features multiple layers of luxurious alpaca fleece near the surface of the mattress.
Once known as the "fiber of the gods," alpaca fleece is prized for its extraordinary softness and natural performance. Its lightweight, breathable fibers help manage temperature and moisture while creating an exceptionally soft and comfortable surface.
Alpaca fleece is naturally hypoallergenic, resistant to dust mites, and free from the chemical treatments commonly associated with synthetic comfort materials. Its combination of softness, breathability, and resilience makes it an ideal material to place closest to the body.
Belgian Silk and Wool Damask
The Aerie Origin is finished in a luxurious Belgian silk and wool damask, selected for its softness, breathability, and refined appearance.
Silk creates an exceptionally smooth and elegant surface, while wool naturally helps regulate temperature and manage moisture throughout the night. Together, they create a breathable sleep surface that feels as luxurious as it looks.

Silver Infused Fiber
Just beneath the fabric on the top and sides of the Aerie Origin is a silver-infused fiber lining.
Silver is naturally antibacterial, helping maintain a cleaner, more hygienic sleep environment. The fiber also helps move moisture away from the body so it can evaporate more quickly, contributing to a cooler and drier sleep surface throughout the night.
Traditional Button Tufting
The Aerie Origin is finished with traditional hand-applied button tufting.
Each tuft consists of a rosette, ribbon, and bottom felt washer inserted under tension through the mattress. These tufts hold the comfort materials securely in place and help prevent shifting or bunching over time.
True button tufting also stabilizes the mattress surface, reducing motion from a restless partner and helping prevent both sleepers from rolling toward the center of the mattress.
